Our Expertise

As our largest division, we work with critical assets that cannot simply be taken out of service or replaced: storage tanks, pipelines, pumps, valves and other essential equipment that must keep operating while they are inspected, repaired and protected.

Our work is organised into four service families because corrosion rarely occurs in isolation. It is often linked to asset condition, mechanical performance, operating environment, and the need to preserve equipment during shutdowns, storage, or transport. A practical solution therefore requires more than a single repair: it requires the right combination of inspection, mechanical services, corrosion control, and preservation.

How a tank comes back

Photographed in our own fabrication workshop. Every asset goes through the same four stages, whether it is a hose assembly or a forty-tonne vessel.

Grinding back to sound substrateResin mixed to batch ratioThe cured lining, before despatchPlate replacement and re-fabrication
Step 01Strip and prepare

The old lining is ground back and the steel is blasted. Nothing is applied over a surface that has not been taken back and inspected first.

Step 02Mix and apply

Resin is mixed to the batch ratio and applied under full respiratory protection. The working time is short, so the crew size is set by the area rather than the other way round.

Step 03Cure and inspect

Cured thickness is checked and the coating is inspected end to end. A lining is only worth what the inspection behind it is worth.

Step 04Fabricate and finish

Plate replacement, re-fabrication and welding where the asset needs more than a coating, then back into service.

Solutions We Provide

Everything this division does

Tanks and lining

01Derakane coatingInternal lining for tanks, pipe spools, pump internals and manifolds. Suited to highly corrosive media including HCL, KCL, brine, processed water and fuel. Warranty of 3 to 5 years depending on concentration and temperature.
02Tank re-fabricationExternal and internal structural repair, pipe re-design, valve overhaul, metal patch work and base build-up.
03GRP liningGlass-reinforced plastic lining for water and chemical tanks, with a 3 year warranty.
04AST soil-side corrosionProtecting the underside of above-ground storage tanks without lifting them: ER probes for continuous monitoring, and VCI powder or slurry injected beneath the floor plate. Deployed at OQ (Oman) and QP (Qatar).
05Tank cleaningChemical de-sludging of tanks and tankers, with VCI protection applied after cleaning.
06Batch mixer refurbishmentLining, sand blasting, painting and skid or structural fabrication for batch mixing vessels.

Inspection and quality control

07UT thickness testingNon-destructive measurement of pipe walls, tank floors and shells to establish thickness, integrity and corrosion rate for fitness-for-service assessment.
08Spark testingHigh-voltage inspection that finds pin holes and discontinuities in an applied lining or coating, performed to NACE and SSPC standards.
09Structural integrity and TPIStructural inspection, quality control processes and third party inspection certification.
10Hydrostatic testingStatic hydrotest to verify pressure integrity after repair.

Pipelines, valves and rotating equipment

11Pipeline servicesMaintenance and inspection, fabrication in carbon steel, stainless and GRE, installation including GRE pipe joining, cleaning and flushing, and corrosion-resistant coatings.
12Valve and flange servicesSupply of new valves and flanges, maintenance, repair, complete overhaul, and preservation for storage.
13Rotary equipmentPump overhaul including mechanical seals, bearings and spare kits, pumping unit engine servicing, skid fabrication, and compressor and motor maintenance.
14Structural fabrication and modificationsSteel fabrication and reverse engineering for industrial applications, including CTD tower modifications — jacking-frame realignment, top-section grating, stainless pin fabrication and ladder and handrail work to client specification.
15Welding, sandblasting and paintingStructural and pipe welding, surface preparation by sandblasting, and protective painting — the groundwork behind tank re-fabrication, batch mixer refurbishment, pipeline fabrication and structural modification work across the division.

Chemistry and preservation

16Enhanced oil recoveryBioBreak® biopolymer technology for multi-stage oil and water separation, hydrocarbon recovery from produced and waste water, and solids and iron removal from flow-back water. Suitable for on- and offshore operations, non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-flammable, reducing hydrocarbon content to 5 PPM or below.
17Equipment preservationVappro VCI coatings, emitters, desiccants and impregnated packings for long-term storage protection, plus chemical rust removal and conversion before protection is applied.
18Specialty solutionsExternally mounted, spill-proof and impact-resistant level gauges; mobile spill containment kits for transporter tanks; abrasion- and corrosion-resistant ceramic coatings for pump internals.
19Engineering and designCustom engineering solutions and project design for industrial applications.
